FitFam runs the Shanghai marathon on Sunday, November 17
Our runners have been training hard for the upcoming Shanghai International Marathon this Sunday November 17th with a variety of FitFam workouts across town.
From our ‘On Empty Streets’ group to Puxi Run Ladies; weekend long runs to sprint and speed work, they have been preparing for the biggest race in Shanghai over the past year, full of dedication and motivation from other FitFammers.
FitFam will join 38,000 other runners at this annual international race starting at the Bund, running through the heart of Shanghai and finishing at the Shanghai Stadium.
60 brave FitFam souls will look to find their stride in the full marathon length (42.195km) while another 14 FitFammers will be participating in the 10km race. From first-timers to seasoned runners, everyone will put their training to the test and see if they have what it takes to complete the race (we have no doubt they will)!
As nerves and excitement settle in, our inspiring runners will find their place on the course. We are sure they want to hear your voice yelling “Jia You!!” and see your smiles. FitFam support crew will be at the 25km mark of the course at Middle Longhua Road starting at 8:30am. (metro Station Line 2 / Line 7).
Despite the rain and cold weather, last year’s support team came out strong to provide a bit of warmth and lots of high fives to our tired runners midway through the race, and we expect many more to come support this coming Sunday!
Please come along and join us! You can’t miss us. Keep an ear out for the power ballads and look for the FitFam flags. Bring along snacks or hydration to share with the runners. We’ll hang out and wait for familiar faces to pass us. Perhaps we’ll even do a mini HIIT workout until they arrive…
Bring your most positive vibes and LET’S GO!!!
